Working with Colour/Size Tables

Micronet allows you to group together items with different colours and sizes while uniquely identifying each item of that type by its colour and/or size. This can be used to create and track products that have different colours and sizes, such as for sales of apparel like shoes, shirts, trousers, uniforms, etc. Micronet saves the main product as a master item and maintains a colour/size matrix for the different colours and sizes.

For example, a particular type of T-shirt might be identified by the master part number TZ. The four different colours and three different sizes could be identified as:

Colour and size codes can be created to apply to all master items. In the example above, this would mean that all the colours and sizes you entered could be applied to all items of apparel, e.g. shirts, trousers, uniforms and shoes.

Alternatively, to reduce the size of the entry matrix used during purchasing and invoicing, you can create groups with different colour/size codes. For example, you might have one group containing all the colours and sizes for T-shirts, another group containing the colours and sizes for shoes, and another containing the colours and sizes for trousers. This also reduces the possibility of errors. For example, a user could not accidentally order T-shirts in a colour or size that applied to shoes.
